A 7-day trip to the far north of Sikkim to the breathtaking landscapes of the Yumthang Valley, dotted with Buddhist monasteries and nature parks where rhododendrons and primroses bloom in spring.
From From Bagdogra, in West Bengal (the nearest airport), we’ll head to Gangtok, the capital of the state of Sikkim, and stop there for a day to visit the surrounding area, including the famous Gompso Lake.
From Gangtok, we’ll head north, where winding roads will take us to several monasteries and waterfalls.
After a break in Singhik, we’ll head even further north to one of the most majestic regions of Sikkim: the Yumtang Valley.
NOTE: Sikkim requires one or more permits depending on the destination; Our local representatives will arrange for them.
- Foreigners need an Inner-Line Permit (free) to enter Sikkim, valid for 30 days, renewable (maximum 60 days). The permit covers the Gangtok region, North Sikkim, and most of West Sikkim.
- To travel to the Lachung and Lachen valleys in North Sikkim, foreigners require restricted area permits.
- Foreigners also require a permit to visit Tsomgo Lake.
- High-altitude treks also require trekking permits, valid for 15 days.

Day 1
Bagdogra airport (West Bengal) - Gangtok (Sikkim)
We'll greet you warmly at Bagdogra Airport and then depart directly for Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim.

Day 2
Gangtok - Tsomgo lake - Gangtok
Visit the city of Gangtok followed by an excursion to the famous Tsomgo Lake.
Tsomgo is an 800 m long glacial lake located at an altitude of 3,753 m and surrounded by rugged mountains. The lake changes color seasonally and is highly revered by the people of Sikkim.

Note: Foreigners are not permitted to go beyond Tsomgo Lake or visit places such as Baba Mandir or Nathula Pass due to its proximity to the Chinese border. Overnight in GangtokDay 3
Gangtok - Singhik via several monasteries and waterfalls
We head north towards Singhik. Along the way, we'll make several stops at Phensang Gompa, Seven Sisters Falls, and Phodong Gompa, home to 260 monks and home to numerous ancient murals.
Overnight stay near Singhik in a charming guesthouse surrounded by nature.
Day 4
Singhik - Lachung
Departure for the most fascinating part of the journey: the Lachung Valley, perched at an altitude of 2,600 m.
Along the way, we'll make several stops, including at the Naga Waterfalls and the villages of Mangan and Chungthang.
Check-in to your guesthouse in Lachung and free time to visit the Lachung Gompa and stroll through the village, whose traditional pine houses are built.
Day 5
Lachung - Yumthang Valley (Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary) - Lachung
This day is the highlight of the trip. We head about thirty kilometers from Lachung to admire the majestic Yumthang Valley and, above all, its Singba Nature Reserve. From March to early May, this reserve is covered with alpine flowers, including countless primroses and some twenty varieties of rhododendrons.

Note: Yumesamdong (hot springs) and Zero Point are not accessible to foreigners (due to their proximity to the Chinese border).Day 6
Yumthang - Gangtok
In the morning, return to Gangtok.

Gangtok - Siliguri
We're leaving for Siliguri, near Bagdogra Airport. Namaste. Looking forward to meeting you again.
