Three-day getaway in Mewari (Delwara)

Three-day getaway in Mewari (Delwara)

€350 per person

A three-day getaway to Delwara, Rajasthan, to discover its unique heritage and authentic rural life.

Delwara is a village nestled in the heart of the Aravalli Mountains, just thirty kilometers from Udaipur, Rajasthan’s romantic city of lakes. Although Delwara is surprisingly little-known, it was once a major spiritual center and a renowned place of learning for the future rulers of Mewar; its thousands of Hindu temples and hundreds of Jain derasar earned it the name “city of the gods.”

We offer a two-day getaway in and around this ancient city to discover its rich heritage, including ancestral Jain temples, ancient residences, and artisan shops.

The countryside around Delwara is home to many typical villages, largely inhabited by the Gaari community, goat herders. We’ll meet them (by bike or tuk-tuk) and discover their traditional adobe houses from another era.

For reasons of exclusivity and respectful tourism, the names of the villages are not mentioned. You’ll discover them as you travel with us!

Best time for this tour: during the monsoon season (July-August) for its lush landscapes, and from October to March.
