This trek leads you through the breath-taking and wild landscapes of the Kinnaur region, from green meadows to high mountains landscapes. It’s about 35km trek that starts from Charang village, crosses Charang La Pass, and ends in Chitkul village.

Day 1
Delhi - Shimla
Namaste! We pick you up in Delhi and we proceed to Shimla - Overnight at Shimla.
Day 2
Shimla - Kalpa
We head to Kalpa by jeep (220 km /8 h) – We check in at the 'Little Heaven Retreat Centre’, a lovely wooden house offering the best view in Kalpa village.
Day 3
Inner-line Permit in Reckong Peo
After a delicious breakfast, we walk down from Kalpa to Reckong Peo through a forest path to apply for the inner line permit. This permit is required for foreigners visiting some areas of Kinnaur that border China. Overnight in Kalpa.
Day 4
Tsaka (acclimatization)
We trek up to Tsaka (3800m), a pastureland above Kalpa, to acclimatize to the altitude. This trek takes about 3 hours up and 1.5 hours down to Kalpa. Overnight in Kalpa.
Day 5
Shurting to Charang
Altitude: 3500m / Difficulty: Moderate / Distance: 8 km / Duration: 3 h.
We leave for Shurting by Jeep and start our trek from the Charang village - Overnight at the Charang village, in a tent camp. Charang is reputed for its 11th century monastery known as the Rangrik Tungma Complex.
Day 6
Charang - Lalanti base
Altitude: 4400m / Difficulty: moderate to tough / Distance: 11 km / Duration: 6 h.
We carry on with our trek to Lalanti, which is reputed for its gorgeous pastures landscape and rich fauna and flora. overnight in Lalanti camp.
Day 7
Lalanti - Charang Pass
Altitude: 4570 m / Difficulty: tough / Distance: 7 km / Duration: 6 h.
This part of the trek is one of the most difficult parts of our journey- we climb up to the pass through boulders and snow, and the trail can get very slippery. The campsite at Charang Pass is on snowy ground most of the time.
Day 8
Charang Pass - Chitkul
Altitude: 5100m / Difficulty: tough / Distance: 12 km / Duration: 8 h.
After a relaxing night, we carry on with our journey to a steep trail through snow and gravel until the pass: it is steep for at least 3 hours. Then we trek down towards Chitkul.
This is the end of this amazing trek - Overnight in a hotel at Chitkul.
Day 9
Chitkul - Narkanda
We head slowly back to Delhi via the Sangla valley - If the schedule allows it, we visit the Bhimakali temple of Sarahan, a marvel of kinnauri architecture and one of the most revered Shakti Peeth - Overnight at Narkanda.
Day 10
Narkanda - Delhi
We return to Delhi. End of this amazing trek-pilgrimage. Looking forward to seeing you again. Namaste!
