Chhattisgarh, an ethnic journey
Chhattisgarh is a central state of India, created relatively recently (in 2000) from the partition of Madhya Pradesh. Its capital is Raipur, which is known for its steel production. This region of India is still little visited, however it is full of wonders with ancestral temples (Bhoramdeo, Rajim, Dantewara, Barsoor) and wonderful nature with no less than three national parks, a dozen nature reserves and many rivers and waterfalls.
This state, including the Bastar region to the south, is also home to many Adivasi communities, the first people of India, who have preserved their traditional way of life and developed their culture, especially through their craftsmanship, which is exported all over the world.
